One of those nights

Do you ever have one of those nights that things seem to just flow. Well, last night was one of them for me. Everything went so smoothly at my house. After the kids that Jared babysits got picked up, Taylor came up and started her homework with no complaints. She is one that you have to sit by her the whole time though. So I sat with her and Jared started dinner, while Brogan was taking a nap.

Then we ate dinner. Taylor actually ate it, and in a timely manner, and told Jared that it was "fantastic". That fact right there, is good enough for me to call it a great night.

Then Taylor willingly did the rest of her homework, and wanted to finish all weeks worth, instead of saving some to do with her other mom. She didn't need help and whizzed through her math problems so fast! Huge step for her!

Then she got up and got in the shower, with hardly any help. That part makes me a little sad, I hate that my kids are growing up so fast!

Brogan woke up and ate and was just the happiest little boy around. So nice, especially since he is still getting over an aweful cold/ear infection.

We all went downstairs and watched the end of the new Indiana Jones movie together. Taylor went and got a book to read to me before it was time to take her back to her mom's house. She did great on the book, it was a level 3 book and she is a little behind on her reading skills. She was more than willing to take on the challenge of a little bit "harder" book.

The worst part was taking Taylor back to her moms house. We have had her for a week and it has been so nice. The house seems empty without her laughter. Brogan played and smiled and giggled and then went to bed without a problem. Jared and I had a little time together before we both koncked out.

I wish that every night could go so well. Usually, it is a fight to get Taylor to eat her dinner and do her homework. Lately, Brogan has been fussy and clingy. And it always seems like there is not enough time in the day to get everything done.

Last night was a perfect night in my world.

Yeah, It's nice when things just go smoothly, especially with kids and a husband, makes ya just go "ahhhhhhhh".

It is funny what kind of things bring us joy. When you were 15 years old did you ever think anything so simple would please you so much?
I hope you have more great nights to come dear!

Hope that ear infection is long gone too!
