This is at Hanalei Bay. We went out on the pier, where there were many signs posted to "Do Not Jump", but I was with an Elwell and signs don't mean anything! I think that he was too excited to get into the water.
So he jumped!!!
..... and was in heaven!!!

Here is the view of the pier from the shore. I can't wait to photoshop this one, blow it up, and hang it in my bedroom!!!

My feet--- its my tradition to take pictures of my feet.
These next few are the view from our lanai.
There are lots of friendly birds in Hawaii. These little guys weren't shy at all, in fact we had to keep our screen door shut, or they would wander into our room.
We thought this little guy was pretty. He was a little more jumpy, but still liked the treats.
We flew in Saturday and arrived quite late, at least it was late to our bodies. We stayed in Princeville, which is a resort type community on the North Shore of Kauai. It was about an hour drive from Lihue, where the airport is. It was dark as we were driving, so we didn't quite realize the beauty that surrounded us. It was a very pleasant surprise to wake up to such lush green-ness.
We could hear the ocean from our room. I love that sound. There were a few times that we were able to see whale spouts off in the distance from our room. We had two rooms, each with their own bathroom, a kitchen, a huge living area, and a wrap-around lanai (porch). We also had a smaller porch off of our room.
We really enjoyed Hanalei and went there often. It was about a 15 minute drive. The bay was beautiful, with the blue blue water and the lush green background. Parts of "South Pacific" was filmed there.
Anyway, there is a glimpse into our vacation.

We had a hard time adjusting to the time change, and our bed sucked, so we were up pretty early every morning. The first morning I was up and on the back lanai watching the sun come up. It was so serene and nice, well, except for all the damn chickens! That's a whole other post.

I love knowing that somewhere in the world the trees are still green and there are pretty birds singing. Looks like a great stay!
